Preliminaries of the 4th Liugong Global Skills Competition Were Successfully Held on Guantang Campus

(hereinafter referred to as“LiuGong”), co-organized by Liuzhou Vocational and Technical College (hereinafter referred to as LVTC)，the final of the 4th Liugong Global Skills Competition was grandly held at Liugong Global Customer Experience Center on Guantang Campus of LVTC.

The opening ceremony of the competition was presided over by Liang Yongjie, Business Director of Liugong International Business Center. President Gan Jinming from LVTC and Vice President Luo Guobing from Liugong attended the ceremony and delivered speeches successively. Qu Fan, vice President of LVTC, Wei Linhua, Director of the International Exchange Office, Wu Xing, Dean of School of Automotive Engineering, Li Dongchun, General Manager of Liugong International Business Center, Li Yong, Executive Vice Chairman of Liugong International Business Center, Zheng Yaming, Party Secretary of Liugong International Business Center, and Xiang Dongsheng, Deputy General Manager of Asia Pacific Co., Ltd., Liugong After-sales Support and Huang Guangzhou, Director of Program Training, attended the competition as honoured guests.

President Gan Jinming said in his speech that the cooperation between Liugong and LVTC has been continuously upgraded, from domestic cooperation to international cooperation. At present, 4 domestic sub-centers and 8 overseas sub-centers have been established globally, and 9 training bases have been built with distributors. At the same time, the Saudi Catani Institute has been jointly established with the Saudi Catani Group, forming a global corporate training network with Liuzhou as the headquarter. LVTC carried out the expansion of international education with the corporate training network, actively exploring the global output of professional standards of China’s vocational education and establishing the international image of China’s vocational education.

Gan Jinming talked about the collaboration between the school and enterprise to create a “master-led, innovation-driven, school-enterprise co-constructed, and service shared”skill master studio. Currently, two skill master studios(Peng Zhifengs’ and He Haifengs’ master studios), have been built to further deepen the school- enterprise integration, innovatively build a long-term mechanism of collaborative education, and promote the cultivation of high-skilled and compound engineering machinery talents.

Luo Guobing,vice president of Liugong, said in his speech that on April 26 this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping came to Guangxi Liugong Group Co., Ltd. Getting to know the reform and innovation of the enterprise and the development of the manufacturing industry. He stressed high-quality development and innovation is the most important, only by innovation can the enterprises be self-reliant and compete for the first. We must stick to the road of independent innovation. I hope that all the overseas service teams of Liugong can continue to raise the upsurge of “pioneering innovation, competitive development”through the technical competition events.

It is known that on July 23, 2021, the participants had already participated in the preliminaries in Liuzhou. In the end, 14 technical service masters reached the finals. Due to the impact of the epidemic, there are two ways to participate in the finals, on-site and recording videos. Among them, 7 players participated on-site and 7 overseas players participated in the competition by submitting videos. The contents of this final is the handover service skill contest, that is, when the service personnel hand over the machine to the new user, a series of explanations such as safety precautions, vehicle performance, maintenance, instrument interpretation, machine operation, and inventory of random deliverables will be given to users. The explanation method (excavator explanation or loader explanation) is determined by drawing lots, and the whole course is in English, and the difficulty is upgraded. In order to improve the overall quality of the service personnels and enhance the level of professional services, the after-market management and Liugong’s core competitiveness were to be built.

Among the contestants participating in the finals, 4 outstanding graduates from LVTC participated, namely, Yang Qinshou (Indian company) graduated from the major of Construction Machinery Application and Maintenance in 2017, Lu Bingjian (Middle East Company),graduated in 2012 from Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, and Huang Xiaoqiang (South African company),graduated in 2008,majoring in automotive inspection and maintenance technology, Ou Hongyou,graduated in 2007 majoring in automotive inspection and maintenance technology (International Business Center), of which Lu Bingjian was the first prize winner of the 3rd Global Skills Competition. After the tough finals, there will be an online voting session. The results of the competition will be announced on September 1. We hope that our graduates will get good results in the competition.

This Global Skills Competition is the third international competition organized by Liugong and LVTC after the Global Customer Experience Center was put into operation, aiming to built a communicative platform for international technical talents to showcase themselves, to tap their potential and to enable the international business to continue and flourish. At the same time, it also promotes the upgrading of the cooperation between LVTC and Liugong, by following the pace of Liugong’s globalization, and implementing the international development strategy.
