Good News: LZPU Students Win First and Third Prizes in the Guangxi Selection of the 14th National Metallographic Skills Competition for College Students

A total of 180 contestants from 16 undergraduate and junior colleges across the region gathered to engage in an intense competition. Under the guidance of teachers Wen Junxia, Li Cheng, and Qin Chuangzhao from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, a team of 6 students from LZPU stood out in the competition, securing 1 first prize and 3 third prizes for individuals. This marked LZPU's breakthrough in winning a first prize in the Guangxi Selection of the Metallographic Skills Competition, showcasing excellent professional competence and an admirable spirit.
This competition focuses on core aspects such as metallographic sample preparation and structural observation, thoroughly evaluating the contestants' theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and adaptability under pressure. At the competition, the contestants demonstrated full concentration and meticulous execution, aiming to complete high-quality metallographic sample preparation and precise structural observation and analysis within the allocated time.
The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering placed significant emphasis on this event, holding a pre-competition mobilization and deployment meeting. Comprehensive arrangements were made, covering every detail from participant selection and training venue guarantee to technical guidance plans. Drawing on their extensive teaching and practical expertise, the instructors devised a systematic and comprehensive training program for the students. From explaining theoretical knowledge to providing hands-on operational guidance, from attention to detail to handling unexpected situations, meticulous and thorough training was conducted. The participating students were even more dedicated, diligently studying, practicing repeatedly, and continuously refining their skills. On the competition stage, our participants remained calm and composed, methodically showcasing the results of their daily training. Ultimately, with exceptional performances, they distinguished themselves among numerous strong competitors and achieved outstanding results.
These awards are not only a high affirmation of the hard work and dedication of the participating teachers and students, but also a strong testament to the School's accomplishments in talent cultivation and practical teaching. The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering will take this as an opportunity to continuously deepen teaching reforms, enhance the construction of the practical teaching system, and comprehensively empower students to elevate their professional skills and foster innovative thinking.
