From News Center (Text/Photo by Tang Yuqin, International Exchange Department (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office) & School of International Education) Recently, the Ministry of Education approved a new batch of Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions and programs at the undergraduate level and above. The LZPU-BNTU Joint College, co-founded by Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU) and Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), has been approved. As the second such institution approved among vocational undergraduate universities nationwide, it marks an important exploration for vocational undergraduate schools to introduce high-quality foreign educational resources, bridge gaps in professional theoretical teaching and scientific research innovation, and rapidly develop distinctive vocational undergraduate features.
The Joint College will offer four undergraduate programs: Automotive Engineering Technology, Industrial Internet Technology, Cross-border E-Commerce, and Modern Logistics Management. It will have a total enrollment capacity of 1,400 students, with an annual intake of 350. Adopting the "4+0" dual-degree training model, students will complete four years of full-time undergraduate study at LZPU. Those who meet the degree requirements of both institutions will receive a graduation certificate and bachelor's degree from LZPU, as well as a corresponding bachelor's degree from BNTU.
BNTU is the second-ranked polytechnic university in Belarus, with deep academic foundations and industry influence in fields such as mechanical engineering, automobile manufacturing, and information technology. It has developed unique features in the integrated development of engineering and liberal arts in disciplines like Logistics Management and Industrial Economics. Cooperating with BNTU allows LZPU to learn from its advanced educational concepts and models. It is also a key measure to implement the diplomatic outcomes of the two heads of state and cultivate international skilled talents for enterprises in the China-Belarus Industrial Park.
The successful approval of the Joint College marks a key step in LZPU's internationalization. Building on its deep engagement in "going global" within ASEAN, the university is now accelerating the closure of its "bringing in" gap, fostering a new pattern where inbound and outbound international cooperation mutually support and advance each other. In the future, LZPU will leverage the Joint College to introduce high-quality educational resources from BNTU in areas such as heavy vehicles and the industrial internet. It will continue to deepen research and cultural exchanges, using the Joint College as a core platform to enhance research capabilities and expand international cooperation.
